2:43 pm	Update Oh man i forgot to post here since June. OK here's what's happened since: * Visited Connecticut (for a little while in August?) * Finally started doing pilot experiments in lab for my thesis work * Added support for some more WikiEngines to WikiGateway * Went to WikiSym '05, which was awesome * Visited Connecticut for thanksgiving * Got a handheld computer (OQO 01+) and installed Debian GNU/Linux on it * I haven't had time to keep up with the news or with wikis for weeks Here's what's coming up: * My lab may (or may not) be going under construction in a few months, which may mean that I won't be able to do experiments for a year, which means I need to try and get as much done as i can before that happens * I'm TAing a class during Winter quarter (Fundamentals of Computational Neurobiology A: Neurodynamics, with Henry Abarbanel) * February 3-5 is RecentChangesCamp, an informal followup conference to WikiSym '05. I'm going to attend if i can -- right now it looks like there's a 70% chance i'll be able to * Dana and my paper submissions to the edited volume for Online Deliberation '05 (reporting on our work making software to support parliamentary procedure) were accepted, but the word limit is much shorter than the original papers so we have a major rewrite to do by the end of January. * I'm going to Connecticut for a week and a half for Christmas * I'm majorly backlogged in all areas of life (5 Comments |Comment on this)

9:26 pm	Still been busy recently Went to OD2005, presented Parliament. Still catching up on the backlog since then. Also, went to the UCI ISR GSRF poster session the other day. This weekend I hacked the Foxylicious brower plugin to work with Unalog. (1 Comment |Comment on this)

5:10 pm	been busy recently I've been pretty busy recently. I recently submitted papers to the conferences Online Deliberation 2005 and WikiSym 2005. Still preparing for OD 2005, which is next weekend. Also, a good friend of mine just moved to San Diego. (Comment on this)

3:03 pm	what i use this site for the lj community might be somewhat curious why i am maintaining an account here but not posting anything interesting. i thought i'd use this site as a way to put "updates" on my life that might interest people online whom i collaborate with (mainly, "i'm real busy now", and "i'm back" sort of things). this way i don't have to clutter the individual communities with my personal kibble, and i don't have to cross-post. maybe someday i'll use it for more, who knows. right now, though, if i have anything to say that isn't chronologically scoped, i prefer to use wikis, because i think they make it easier to cross-index and organize information.
